LANSING, MI — Lansing Police say they think the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy in the city over the weekend was an accident.
The shooting on Saturday night took place in the 600 block of North Fairview in Lansing. The boy was transported to a local hospital and due to his injuries he was pronounced dead, according to TV6 News in Lansing.
“The murder of this young man is disgusting and as a community, we all must do a better to prevent violence,” said Lansing Police Chief Daryl Green.
Green said the preliminary investigation so far shows this was an accidental shooting. Officers did arrest a 15-year-old male. He is currently lodged at the Ingham County Youth Home.
