NILES, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Two children were treated for non-life threatening injuries after a traffic crash in Niles Monday.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Carberry and Yankee, where one female driver from Niles told police that she had turned into Yankee from Huntley Road and had forgotten that her right turn signal was still on.
Another driver, identified as a woman from Galien, was intending to cross Yankee from Carberry Road and continue south. She said that she saw the turn signal activated on the vehicle and thought that she was in the process of turning when she pulled out from the stop where she had been waiting for traffic to clear.
Her vehicle struck the driver’s side, resulting in non-life threatening injuries to two children of the Niles woman, who also sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Both were transferred by ambulance to South Bend Memorial Hospital.
Alcohol and drugs are not a factor in the crash and all parties were wearing their safety restraints. The incident remains under investigation.
