BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — UPDATE: The Battle Creek man involved in a fatal crash Sunday has been identified, according to a report from MLive Wednesday.
According to the report, the 28-year-old has been identified as Dorian Dawone Hatcher Jr.
Hatcher had struck a tree just before 7:30 a.m. Sunday on Parkway Drive between Wood Street and Oneita Street. At some point, his car crossed over and struck a tree.
After locating the vehicle, responders say Hatcher was found to be dead at the scene.
Hatcher was the only occupant, and no other people or vehicles were involved.

A Battle Creek man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Sunday morning after authorities say he struck a tree.
Just before 7:30 a.m., police responded to Parkway Drive between Wood St. and Oneita St. and found a heavily damaged vehicle and a tree that had actually been uprooted during impact. Investigators say the vehicle had apparently been headed east on Parkway Dr. when it crossed over to the north side of the roadway and struck the tree, likely at a high rate of speed.
The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old Battle Creek man whose name has not been released, was the only occupant and was already deceased when responders arrived. The accident remains under investigation.
