KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man wanted since December in the death of his six-year-old stepson has turned himself in to police, according to a report from WOOD TV Tuesday.
Previously, police in Kalamazoo had announced that they were searching for 22-year-old Latravion Heard-McMillion, whose stepson Jaylen Worthington died December 23 due to complications from trauma.
Worthington was admitted to Bronson Hospital on December 14 with life-threatening injuries, later passing away on December 23. Police say the following investigation revealed that his injuries were a result of child abuse.
A warrant for Heard-McMillion was issued on December 24.
WOOD TV reported that Heard-McMillion turned himself in to police on Monday. He is currently being held without bond on charges of murder at the Kalamazoo County Jail.
