KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Monday, the City of Kalamazoo issued two boil water advisories.
According to the city website, the first advisory was issued for Adams Street. The affected areas are listed as follows:
- Adams Street – From Parkview Avenue (northern boundary) to Amherst Avenue (southern boundary), both sides of street.
- It does NOT include the southeast corner of Adams Street and Parkview Avenue.
- It also does NOT include the northeast corner of Adams Street and Amherst Avenue.
The second advisory concerns Lakeview Avenue. The affected areas are listed as follows:
- Lakeway Avenue – From Ferndale Avenue (western boundary) to Portage Street (eastern boundary), both sides of the street.
- It does NOT include the northwest corner of Lakeway Avenue and Portage Street.
The third advisory was issued for Dorchester Avenue and Konkle Street. The affected areas are listed as follows:
- Dorchester Avenue – From Moreland Street (western boundary) to Konkle Street (eastern boundary), both sides of the street.
- Konkle Street – Only the northwest corner of Konkle Street and Dorchester Avenue.
Under the city guidelines, residents living in those areas are advised to boil water for at least two minutes before consuming it, or use bottled water for the time being.
No extra precautions need to be taken for personal hygiene use.
All three of these advisories are expected to be lifted on Thursday, January 21, according to the city.
