LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Congressman Fred Upton released a statement on his social media channels Tuesday, stating that he would support and vote for an impeachment of President Donald Trump.
That comes after last week’s protests at the U.S. Capitol building which turned violent after protesters forcefully entered the building.
It also follows a report from WWMT Tuesday, which says Vice President Mike Pence will not invoke the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from his position before his term is up.
“The Congress must hold President Trump to account and send a clear message that our country cannot and will not tolerate any effort by any President to impede the peaceful transfer of power from one President to the next,” Upton wrote in part. “Thus, I will vote to impeach.”
