WASHINGTON D.C. (WKZO AM/FM) — Following protests and a lockdown of the Capitol in Washington D.C. Wednesday, Senators Gary Peters and Debbie Stabenow released their own separate statements over Twitter.
Senator Peters tweeted the following message at 3:46 p.m. Wednesday.
I am safe, sheltering in a secure location and will continue to follow the guidance of the Capitol Police.
Today’s attacks on the Capitol are dangerous, unacceptable and an attack on our democracy—and must stop.
