Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Kamalei Correa’s crazy season took another turn on Thursday when the team placed him on the exempt/left squad list.
The departure was due to personal reasons.
Correa began the season playing in three games with the Tennessee Titans before asking to be traded.
The Titans obliged, sending the linebacker and a 2021 seventh-round pick to the Jaguars in October in exchange for a 2021 sixth-round selection.
Correa started six games with Jacksonville and recorded seven tackles before missing the past two weeks with an injury.
With Correa now out for personal reasons, it’s possible the 2016 second-round pick’s season could be coming to an end prematurely. In five seasons, including two in Baltimore (2016-17) before his stint with Tennessee, Correa has appeared in 63 games (19 starts) and has totaled 84 tackles, five passes defended and 8.5 sacks.
