EAST LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Redshirt freshman quarterback Payton Thorne will start for Michigan State University this weekend against Maryland. It’s the second-straight start for Thorne, who was under center for MSU’s loss at Penn State last Saturday.
The Spartans and the Terrapins were originally scheduled to meet November 21, but the game was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns within Maryland’s program.
The top-five spots are unchanged in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. Alabama is number one, followed by Notre Dame, Clemson, Ohio State and Texas A&M. Iowa State slides up one spot to sixth. Florida, Georgia, Cincinnati and Oklahoma round out the top-10.
