KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Tuesday, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) announced that a fire occurred at Borgess Hospital.
Around 10:45 a.m., KDPS, along with the Kalamazoo Township Fire Department, responded to Borgess Hospital on a report of a fire in the building.
Police say officers arrived quickly and were able to extinguish the fire, and were aided by the fire suppression system.
There were no injuries reported and the incident is under investigation.
Later, hospital spokesperson Chris Hunt told WWMT that the fire occurred in the behavioral health unit and confirmed that there were no injuries. He added that patient care was not impacted by this incident.
