PORTAGE (WKZO AM/FM) – The first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine produced by Pfizer will leave for their destinations on Sunday from the company’s Portage manufacturing facility.
Trucks carrying the doses will deliver them to locations that can safely store the vaccine at the low temperature needed…app.94 degrees below zero.
The FDA approved the emergency use of the vaccine on Friday.
The vaccine’s delivery will be made in stages, with doses arriving at the sites Monday through Wednesday.
Kalamazoo County has been made a distribution site; it is not known when it will receive its vaccine stocks.
