ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) – Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region, where the federal government is battling local forces, still has no telephone line connections, making humanitarian work difficult, the United Nations said on Thursday.
Aid agencies are unable to restock food, health and other emergency supplies in the region due to lack of access to the area, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said, adding there were concerns about protection of civilians from the fighting.
