LANSING, MI — The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency director is out. Steve Gray resigned effective immediately yesterday and has been replaced by Liza Estlund Olson as acting director.
Gray had been criticized by those who were unemployed and struggling after being wrongfully denied the jobless benefits. Unemployment went from four-point-three percent in March to 24-percent in April due to COVID-19, which resulted in slow payment of benefits and increased customer service complaints.
