Albany temporarily shut down all activities on Wednesday after a presumptive positive COVID-19 test involving someone associated with the men’s basketball program.
The program said the person is isolating and didn’t specify whether the positive test belonged to a player, coach or staff member.
The university said it was acting “out of an abundance of caution” and was waiting for another test to confirm the result.
The men’s basketball media day, slated for Wednesday, was postponed.
Albany said its testing program has analyzed more than 18,500 saliva samples with the presumed positivity rate being 0.5 percent.
The Great Danes are slated to open their season on Nov. 28 against Marist.
