An Environmental Defense Fund just-released report indicates manufacturers are getting ready to meet demand for zero-emission trucks. The study identifies at least 125 zero-emission truck and bus models either in production, development or demonstration. Over the past five years, sales of zero-emission commercial vehicles have soared nearly ten times. Every major truck or bus manufacturer has at least one all-electric vehicle model or is part of an industry collaboration to bring zero-emission vehicles to market. An EDF spokesman says ‘builders are ready to make these fleets…now we need bold policy to accelerate the market.’
