FC Cincinnati forward Brandon Vazquez has signed a contract extension, the team announced Thursday.
The 22-year-old Vazquez reportedly received a multi-year deal.
“We are pleased to sign Brandon Vazquez to a contract extension,” FC Cincinnati general manager Gerard Nijkamp said in a news release. “While still a developing player, Brandon has earned this opportunity by demonstrating his potential throughout this season. We look forward to his continued development within our roster.”
Vazquez has two goals and one assist in 17 matches (seven starts) this season, his first with Cincinnati after spending the previous three seasons with Atlanta United.
“I’m really happy to be able to sign a new contract to continue playing with FC Cincinnati,” Vazquez said. “I’m very excited for what the future holds for this club and can’t wait to have a chance to play at the new stadium (in 2021). I haven’t had the chance to experience playing in front of fans in Cincinnati, but I am beyond excited for the opportunity to do that at West End Stadium.”
Vazquez, who was born in the San Diego area and has represented the United States at the youth international level, has five career goals and three assists in 49 MLS matches (15 starts).
