Ag Outlook 10-29-2020

The top pumpkin producing state again this year is Illinois. Every state is home to some production but ten states turn out 62 percent of the crop. Michigan always ranks high though not in the top four this year. Three years back the state turned out 79 million pounds worth just short of $10 million. All of this said, the United States is not tops in production. That honor goes to China. Another piece of pumpkin trivia… the greatest of them all was grown 14 years ago in Rhode Island. It weighed in at 1502 pounds.
