KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A suspect arrested in a Kalamazoo bank robbery earlier this year has been sentenced to 30 months in prison, along with three years of supervised release, MLive reported Monday.
Police say that on Wednesday, February 12, the suspect, who has since been identified as 28-year-old Daniel Augustine Solis, entered the Chase Bank on East Michigan Avenue demanding money from a teller.
No weapon was displayed or implied during the incident, and Solis left the bank on foot. Following the robbery, reports from MLive said that Solis had spent over $2,000 of the stolen money at Angels Gentlemen’s Club in Kalamazoo.
He was arrested the very next day by the Kalamazoo SWAT team after being identified through surveillance footage.
His sentencing date was last Friday, September 18. However, this isn’t the only case Solis is connected to.
Solis, according to a story published by The Spokesman Review, is thought to be connected to a child porn incident in Spokane, Washington.
According to that story, police in Washington say Chattaroy woman Audree Pederson is accused of making videos of herself molesting her 2-year-old son. Pederson, an ex-girlfriend of Solis, says that Solis blackmailed her into making the videos. Solis allegedly threatened to leak sexual videos of Pederson if she did not comply.
Pederson says she dated Solis over a period of around five months until he moved to Michigan last December, and has yet to face trial for her role. Police in Washington say they have already contacted police in Kalamazoo in regards to interviewing Solis about the case.
At the time of this reporting, MLive has stated Solis has not yet been arraigned in that case.
