KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man involved in a deadly boating incident last month will face charges, WWMT reported Monday.
Just after 2 p.m. on July 5, police were called to West Gull Lake Drive on a report of a swimmer who had been hit by a boat.
The victim, 18-year-old Jack William Mitchell, died from his injuries following the incident.
On Monday, it was reported by WWMT that the driver of the boat, Tyler Boyd, had charges authorized against him by the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office. He will face a charge of operating a boat under the influence of alcohol causing death.
It was also noted that Boyd has faced OWI charges in the past.
