CHICAGO, IL (WKZO AM/FM) – Tim Anderson homered twice as the Chicago White Sox cruised past the Detroit Tigers 7-2 Monday night.
Luis Robert also went yard twice for Chicago. Yoan Moncada and Danny Mendick each homered for the White Sox as well. Codi Heuer picked up the win for the White Sox, who have won two straight. Isaac Paredes drove in two for the Tigers in his major league debut.
Matthew Boyd struck out nine but gave up three runs over four innings and took the loss for Detroit, which has lost six straight.
The four-game series continues tonight as Tarik Skubal makes his first start in the Majors for the Tigers, while the White Sox counter with Dylan Cease.
The Tigers have called up pitching prospects Casey Mize and Tarik Skubal. The move comes after Detroit placed starting pitcher Ivan Nova on the 10-day IL with triceps tendinitis.
The Tigers also called up infielder Isaac Paredes and designated Dawel Lugo for assignment.
