DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Franmil Reyes hit two of the Cleveland Indians’ five home runs as they topped the Detroit Tigers 8-5 Sunday afternoon.
Francisco Lindor, Jose Ramirez and Sandy Leon also went deep for Cleveland, which swept the three-game series and has won 20 straight over the Tigers. The 20 game winning streak for Cleveland over Detroit is just three games shy of the major league record.
Oliver Perez picked up the win out of the bullpen.
Miguel Cabrera drove in three runs for Detroit, which has dropped five in arow. John Schreiber took the loss. He was touched for three runs in the sixth inning as the Indians broke a 4-all tie.
The Tigers now move on to the Windy City to open a four-game series against the White Sox tonight. Matthew Boyd gets the ball in the opener for the Tigers, while Chicago sends Gio Gonzalez to the mound.
The Tigers have fallen under .500 at 9-and-10. They’re three and a half games back in the AL Central.
