WASHINGTON (WHTC-AM/FM) – This story may warm the heart of Governor Gretchen Whitmer and those who have supported her efforts during the coronavirus outbreak.
WalletHub, the online financial advisory arm of Evolution Finance, recently updated its rankings for states with the biggest health improvements during COVID 19. Using 13 key metrics, including rates in positive tests, hospitalizations and deaths as a result of this disease, the study aimed to determine where “Americans’ health is recovering or worsening the most,” according to a statement. This update focused on the latest developments in each state, rather than which states have been hit the hardest during the pandemic.
According to WalletHub, Michigan is the state with the ninth most improved health overall since COVID 19 emerged in March. In individual categories, the Great Lakes State was 12th in death rate, 8th in positive tests, 12th in COVID 19 current estimated transmission number, and 23rd in hospitalization.
The results of this studay could be seen as a vindication of what Leddy Robert, a spokesman for the Governor’s office, said recently in that Whitmer is “continuing to monitor cases and make decisions based on the best data and science.”
New York topped the overall rankings, with Mississippi at the foot of the table. A link to the WalletHub study findings is here.
