DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is cautiously stating that it appears that Lake Michigan may have reached its peak level for the year and the level should begin dropping starting this month.
Lakes Michigan and Huron, which are considered one lake for record keeping, set yet another water level record in July, but Corps officials said that the levels should begin their seasonal decrease in August.
The other Great Lakes, except for Superior, are expected to also begin decreasing water levels. Superior should start its decrease in September.
