KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The complete “unofficial” results are now in for Kalamazoo County. Results are not final until they are certified by the Board of Canvassers.
Michigan’s Primary Election determines who will be the candidates for each party in the November 3rd election, so both the top Democrat and top Republican will be moving forward.
The total absentee ballot numbers from the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office as of 7:15 p.m. Tuesday show 2,082,523 were issued statewide and 1,589,451 have been returned.
Here are some of the top races in Kalamazoo County we have been following throughout election night and well into Wednesday morning. These are the complete unofficial results as of about 5 a.m. Wednesday. Kalamazoo County Clerk Tim Snow says all the absentee ballots are now in and the final numbers are now being released.
The high number of absentee ballots slowed the final results and absentee ballots in both the city of Kalamazoo and Portage flipped around some candidates who were in the lead for most of the night. Note: The numbers have been updated to also reflect ballots outside of Kalamazoo County’s precincts if needed.
