PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Housing Resource Inc. has received a check for $10,689 dollars from Buddy’s Pizza in Portage.
The restaurant, which opened July 13th, promised to donate its opening day earnings to HRI.
HRI provides housing solutions to individuals or families that are homeless or facing homelessness.
Burton Heiss, CEO of the Detroit-based chain, said in a release that the company wants to accomplish more than just opening a restaurant; they want to become a part of the community.
“Choosing HRI as the recipient of all opening day sales was an easy choice,” Heiss explained, “Their impactful mission and goals perfectly align with our vision of creating happy family traditions, which is something we’ve been doing for more than 74 years.”
Buddy’s is located at 5134 S Westnedge, just north of I-94.
