BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN) – Two young men described as violent felons who escaped from a correctional facility in Virginia almost two weeks ago were apprehended in Battle Creek on Saturday night.
18-year-old Rashad Williams and 20-year-old Jabar Ali Taylor were arrested without incident by the Grand Rapids Fugitive Task Force in the 5700 block of Beckley Road.
Taylor was serving a sentence for convictions of two counts of second-degree murder and aggravated malicious assault. Williams was previously convicted of malicious wounding and robbery.
Battle Creek Police, Grand Rapids Police, the Michigan State Police and F.B.I. all had a hand in the apprehension.
