KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — An investigation is underway after three separate shooting incidents in Kalamazoo early Sunday morning.
The first occurred just after midnight Sunday when a 19-year-old man went to a local emergency room with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He said that he had been riding in a car in the area of West Paterson Street and Douglas Avenue when he heard gunshots and realized he had been wounded.
The second happened in the 1100 block of Douglas near Alamo Avenue. A 15-year-old male told public safety officers that he had been walking on Alamo around 5 a.m. when he was shot by an unknown person in a passing car.
The two victims both have non-life-threatening injuries.
The third incident involved shots fired into a house in the 1800 block of South Burdick Street near Reed Avenue at around 2:40 a.m. Sunday.
Officers found numerous shell casings nearby and bullet holes in the structure. No injuries were reported.
The suspect’s vehicle was located on Stadium Drive near Drake Avenue shortly after the incident and three of the four suspects were taken into custody. The investigation into all three incidents continues.
