LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Michigan lawmakers are reportedly close to a deal on the budget that would slash $490 million from state programs without laying off any workers.
Negotiators are said to be about $30 million dollars away from eliminating the budget deficit for this year. The 2020-2021 budget year in Michigan begins October 1.
Sources say virtually all state departments will see budget cuts.
