KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Bronson Healthcare has announced the opening of seven new primary care practices in the Western Michigan area.
Officials say the practices are staffed by a team of providers from Portage Physicians, P.C. who previously provided family medicine and pediatric care at Ascension Borgess ProMed.
The seven new Bronson practices offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments and are located at:
- 6210 West Main St. in Kalamazoo (behind Bronson FastCare)
- 2700 East Centre Ave. in Portage
- 601 S. US 131 in Three Rivers
- 8088 Vineyard Parkway in Texas Corners
- 8906 M-89 in Richland
- 5973 Beatrice Dr. in Kalamazoo (I-94 & 9th Street)
- 10310 Miller Dr. in Galesburg
“Having 62 new provider partners means we can better coordinate care for our patients and, together, improve the overall health of people in our communities,” chief operating officer for Bronson Medical Group Laurel Barber said. “The practice locations expand access to pediatric and primary care into communities that Bronson lacked a presence. It is so important for people of all ages to have a primary care provider to guide them with preventative care, as well as to treat chronic illnesses and injuries. In addition to face to face appointments in the office, we offer video visits to make seeing a Bronson doctor as easy as possible.”
Like all Bronson facilities, the new locations have protocols in place to keep the environment clean and safe for patients and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. Social distancing is a standard in all waiting rooms and everyone in the facility is required to wear a face mask.
Bronson Primary Care Partners uses the Epic electronic health record system which allows patients to access their health information online in Bronson MyChart.
Patients can use the App to schedule an appointment, check-in virtually before their appointment, view test results, refill prescriptions, request a video visit and send messages to the office. Bronson providers can see each patient’s health information on the Epic system to deliver timely care and collaborate with other specialists 24/7.
