JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – The Jackson City Council tonight will consider a proposal to change the city’s logo that honors the city’s namesake, President Andrew Jackson.
Jackson has come under criticism because he was a slave owner.
Mayor Derek Dobies says he would consider supporting the idea if the logo is changed to reflect the city’s heritage, such as an oak tree to represent the Oaks Park.
