KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety authorities are investigating a shots fired incident in the city’s Edison neighborhood on Friday.
At around 11:11 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 900 block of East Stockbridge Avenue near Portage Street. Upon arrival, witnesses pointed out a vehicle, saying that the intended victim was inside.
Officers approached but the SUV sped off at high speed. It is not known if anyone was hit by the gunfire and officers located several shell casings in the area.
Witnesses also said the shooter was a black male, wearing a white t-shirt and black gym shorts, and wielding a handgun.
