KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — As 9:30 a.m. Friday the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety released a statement saying Derricka Lewis was found safe with family members. No other details were released.

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers are asking for the public’s help locating a missing teen with special needs.
16-year-old Derricka Lewis walked away from her family in the 1900 block of the East Kilgore Service Road near I-94 in Kalamazoo’s Milwood Neighborhood. Authorities were called to the area just before 3:30 a.m. Friday.
Family members say Lewis has a mental health disability requiring her to have continuous supervision and she may be confused about her surroundings.
Lewis is described as black female about 5’5,” 230 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black shirt, black shorts, and black/red/white Nike shoes.
