PENN TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that one driver was injured in a crash that took place Monday in Penn Township.
Just before 7 a.m., police were called to the intersection of Penn Road and Dutch Settlement Street. 20-year-old New York resident Yocov Roness was driving south bound when he failed to stop at the signed intersection.
As a result, he collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by 30-year-old Marcellus resident Cassandra Jordan. Jordan also had her 2-year-old child in the vehicle at the time. Both were treated and released at the scene.
Roness was transported to Borgess Hospital in Dowagiac for treatment of his injuries.
At this time, it appears that all parties were using their seat belts and intoxicating substances were not a factor. This case remains under investigation.
