HARTFORD TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A woman is in custody and a man is in critical condition after a shooting in Van Buren County on the 4th of July.
Deputies were called to a home in the 62000 block of 66th Avenue near 62nd Street in Hartford Township around 7 p.m. Saturday where they found a 34-year-old man on a porch suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
He was airlifted to Bronson Methodist in Kalamazoo.
A 36-year-old woman was detained without incident and taken to the Van Buren County Jail. Authorities believe the woman shot the victim with a 20 gauge shotgun.
The shooting is still under investigation.
