KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers are searching for the driver who hit and injured a pedestrian in the city’s Vine Neighborhood.
It happened just after 10:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of West Vine Street and South Westnedge Avenue.
When first responders arrived they found a 55-year-old victim unresponsive in the roadway. He was rushed to Bronson Hospital where he was last listed in fair condition.
Witnesses believe that a black woman was driving a white sport utility-type vehicle or van, possibly a Dodge Caravan, when she struck the victim.
A black man reportedly got out of the vehicle to check the area where the man was hit, but then he got back into the vehicle and they fled eastbound on West Vine Street.
