PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Portage is continuing its 2020 Summer Concert Series this week, with a show by “The Hair Band Night” at Ramona Park on Thursday, June 25.
Officials say the Hair Band Night is a live band paying tribute to ‘80s Hair Bands such as Bon Jovi, Mötley Crüe, Poison, Def Leppard, Guns N’ Roses, Van Halen and more.
This event will be held “drive-in style” to help maintain social distancing. Guests can watch from their vehicle or set up chairs to enjoy the show. The parking area will open at 5 p.m. and close once it reaches capacity. The show starts at 7 p.m.
Patrons are allowed to bring a tailgate. No grills will be permitted, however. Unlike the previous kick-off event, which was a concert by “The Boy Band Night,” cold drinks and treats will be available to purchase from Coffee Rescue.
Thanks to a sponsorship from the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, this event is free and open to the public. The event is also sponsored by Honor Credit Union.
Further events planned for this summer include Motown Nation on July 30. The series will wrap up with Al Hight & M6 West on August 6.
