WASHINGTON (WHTC-AM/FM) – As a Congressional panel meets to know more about the White House’s response to the ongoing COVID 19 outbreak, one member from the Lakeshore is not on hand.
Republican Fred Upton is monitoring the hearing of the House Energy and Commerce Committee via a video link at his St. Joseph home, hopeful that he and his fellow members can learn more from Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institutes of Health, CDC Chief Dr. Robert Redfield, FDA Director Dr. Steven Hahn and assistant Secretary for Health and Human Services Dr. Brett Giroir, all of whom will be testifying in person on Capitol Hill.
“We have a lot of questions, and we never want to go through this again, so let’s learn from this,” Upton said on “WHTC Morning News” during his weekly interview. “We’ll be scattered all around the country, fifty-some members that will be able to ask questions of the experts on what’s happened, what’s likely to be the future, and what can we do to be better prepared in the future.”
Upton is expected back in Washington on Wednesday.
