KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Power has been restored to residents around the downtown Kalamazoo area after an equipment failure, according to Consumers Energy.
Around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday Consumers Energy reported over 1300 customers without power around the downtown Kalamazoo area and stretching into the surrounding neighborhoods including the Northside, West Douglas, and Vine Neighborhoods.
The estimated restoration time was first reported to be around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, but as of 8:30 a.m. almost all of customers were back to normal.
Officials did not provide details on the equipment failure that caused the outage.
