KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has claimed another business, this time a breakfast establishment in the West Douglas area.
In a Facebook post Monday, owners of the restaurant Station 702 announced that it would be closing permanently.
The statement can be viewed in full below:
“Dear friends and neighbors,
It’s with mixed feelings that we announce the permanent closure of Station 702, effective immediately.
Some wonderful opportunities have come our way that we’re very excited about, and it’s simply not possible to continue running the restaurant. We had hoped to sell the business so the cozy place you all know and love could live on, but COVID-19 had other plans. We are forever thankful for the beautiful souls we have met and the relationships we have built. We will miss you dearly so please say hello if you see us around town.
Thank you again,
Your Station 702 crew.”
The post was originally made on Saturday. According to a report from MLive, the property owners are receiving feedback for the next business to take over the facility. Requests can be sent to brad@station702.com for more information.
Station 702 originally opened in 2014.
This is only the latest Kalamazoo-area eatery to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last month, one location of Moe’s Southwest Grill announced that it would be closing its doors.
Preceding Moe’s was the Bravo! Restaurant and Cafe, which had been open in the community for 33 years.
