SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The South Haven Police Department is reporting that a suspect is in custody after shooting at an occupied residence.
In the early hours of Tuesday, police responded to a report of a shooting in the 21000 block of M140 Highway. The report indicated that multiple shots were directed at an occupied home, but no one inside was injured.
Responding officers witnessed a vehicle fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed, but Sgt. Adam DeBoer managed to stop it nearby.
A search of the vehicle turned up firearms and ammunition which was consisted with the spent casings recovered at the house.
The suspect has been identified as a 21-year-old male from Covert. He is currently being held pending charges from the Van Buren Prosecutor’s Office.
The news of this shooting comes after an incident earlier this month where some vehicles were struck by gunfire after an altercation.
