KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers are reporting another shooting that occurred on the city’s Northside in the middle of the day.
Authorities responded to a report of gunshots in the 700 block of Hawley Street near West North Street around 1 p.m. Friday and discovered that a home in the area had been struck by the gunfire and located several shell casings nearby.
The residence was occupied during the shooting but nobody was injured.
It’s currently unknown if the home or the occupants were the intended targets of the shooting. This comes just days after officers said they were investigating six shootings in the span of two days in the Northside and Edison Neighborhoods.
So far there is no suspect information for the Hawley Street shooting. Officers will remain in the area to prevent any further gun violence.
