STURGIS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Two people are in custody and more charges could follow after a man was found unresponsive during drug bust in St. Joseph County.
The Southwest Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at a home in the 28,000 block East West Street near Ilene Street in the city of Strugis Wednesday evening and located two adults inside the residence, five men inside a small shed that had been converted into a living space, and another man unresponsive behind the shed.
Authorities revived the man who was found to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Detectives then seized meth, heroin and prescription drugs, meth pipes, hypodermic needles and other drug paraphernalia from the residence. A handgun and long gun were also located and seized.
Two men were booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on outstanding warrants and warrant requests are being submitted to the St. Joseph County prosecutor’s office for the other subjects. The investigation is ongoing.
Detectives from SWET South, SWET East, St. Joseph SRT, State Troopers and officers from the Sturgis Police Department assisted in the search warrant.
