CASCO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Sometimes 911 calls are not just for people in distress.
On Saturday officials with South Haven Area Emergency Services were called to an open manhole in the area of Pacific Avenue in Casco Township after a caller reported an adult deer near the road by the manhole.
There authorities helped rescue a small fawn from inside the manhole. It was safety released into the nearby woods.
SHAES posted photos on their Facebook page saying, “Calls for service to SHAES come in many forms. Saturday’s was a bit unusual.”
