LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A group seeking to reinstate the policy of good behavior credits for prisoners received good news from a US District Judge.
The group, SawariMedia, said that the pandemic hindered their effort to collect signatures to have the proposal put on the November ballot, and Judge Matthew Leitman agreed with them.
However, Leitman didn’t propose a solution, but did direct state election officials to come up with a solution.
Currently, prisoners in Michigan must serve their minimum sentence before consideration for parole.
