MACKINAC ISLAND (WKZO AM/FM) – The state highway that rings Mackinac Island has portions that need emergency repairs, so state officials have stated that a large part of M-185 has been closed to all traffic…horses, bikes and humans.
The project begins on Monday, and is expected to be completed in September, with a price tag of 1.4 million dollars.
High water and wave erosion damage are being named as the culprits for the need for repairs.
