KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) is announcing a search for a suspect in a shooting that took place Tuesday morning.
Around 9:30 a.m., officers were called to the 100 block of West Frank Street for a report of a male that had been shot.
Upon locating the victim, it was discovered that he was suffering from a shooting injury in the leg, which is said to be non-life threatening. Officers administered aid until he could be transported to a local hospital for treatment.
While at the scene, officers developed enough information from witnesses and evidence to identify a suspect. The suspect had already fled the scene prior to officers arriving. Officers are currently searching for the suspect at this time.
Police say this case will be forwarded to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutors Office for further review.
