KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers are searching for a suspect after a gunshot victim was found near the city’s Vine Neighborhood just after midnight on Monday.
First responders were called to the 100 block of West Vine Street near South Burdick Street around 12:30 a.m. Monday after a report of gun fire in the area. There they found a 33-year-old Kalamazoo resident suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The Kalamazoo Metro SWAT team was then called in to investigate the shooting. The search eventually led them to the 800 block of Stuart Avenue on the city’s Northside where they executed a search warrant.
During the search authorities located additional evidence from the possible shooting but no other specifics were released.
Officers say a suspect has been identified but no arrests have been made and the identity of the suspect is not being released at this time.
