KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Three women’s lacrosse recruits at Kalamazoo College have been removed from the head coach’s recruiting list due to racist comments the three made on social media.
Coach Jess Smith said that the comments were made on Instagram this past week and issued a tweet that the college does not tolerate racist views from its recruits.
The tweet read, “We removed several young women from out list of recruits today based on social media content. Let me be clear – Kalamazoo College Women’s Lacrosse will never recruit players who espouse racist views. We hope that families and coaches will continue to educate themselves and young players against racism and hate.”
