PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The choir department of Portage Northern High School and Portage North Middle School are presenting their first-ever virtual choir concert.
Director of Choirs Rose Hellmers says “Even with all our end of year performances canceled, our choir family sings on – because they know that even apart, they are a part of something greater.”
The full-length concert, titled, “Together, A Part” will be released on YouTube Live at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and will stay up for just this week.
It will feature all seven award-winning Portage choirs as well as auditioned soloists and small groups. According to Hellmers, the choirs will sing music from around the world, from all different time periods, and many styles, from Broadway to Benjamin Britten to Billy Joel.
