PAW PAW, MICHIGAN (WKZO AM/FM) — A woman has been sentenced in a bank robbery case that occurred last September.
The case occurred at the Mercantile Bank on East Michigan Avenue near Woodman Street in Paw Paw township.
Paw Paw Police say the woman, identified as Laura Yoder, gave a note to the teller claiming she had a bomb outside, demanded money, and then fled in a vehicle with over $1,500 in cash.
No explosives or suspicious items were found outside the bank and no injuries were reported. Yoder was later arrested that same day in Decatur. She pleaded guilty to the charges last December.
As a result of her sentencing, Yoder will be facing 38 months in prison for the robbery. She has also been ordered to pay restitution and assessment fees and will be on two years of supervised release after her sentence has been served.
